Winter Solstice Celebration Warms a Winter Night

December 3, 2015 by Sari Leave a Comment

TTM’s Winter Solstice Celebration will be a rich and soulful evening of raising our spirits up with music, inspiration, laughter and movement.

Why celebrate solstice? No matter what we believe, the earth moves the same for all of us. Renewing connections with each other and with the world around us brings deeper meaning to the season. Celebrating the natural shift from darkness to light helps cut through all the typical holiday commercialization and emotional roller-coastering.

TTM’s Winter Solstice Celebration includes and transcends cultural differences by weaving them together into a unique and joyful inspirational journey. Celebrants include First Methodist Church’s Rev. Laurie Rookard, Congregation Beth Israel’s Rabbi Linda Potemken, Islamic Center of Chester’s Imam Haneef Mahdi, and trans-denominational minister Rev. Dr. Joni Carley.

The Solstice Singers and platinum recording artist, Denise Montana, will perform under musical director, Aaron Graves, a jazz great who played with Lou Rawls, Grover Washington and the Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra. There will be a special meditation with renowned sound healer Katryn Laventure.

The Celebration will be followed by a reception.

December 19, 7:30 PM, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County, 145 W. Rose Tree Rd, Media. Tickets are $10:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/winter-solstice-celebration-tickets-19341770757. Get your tickets soon – we expect to sell out!
