Tree Tenders
Mission Statement
TTGM members trained with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) to become official Tree Tenders. They operate as a TTGM working group, organizing tree plantings once or twice a year.
What is Tree Tenders?
Our group is passionate about increasing the tree canopy in the Borough of Media, caring for our local trees, teaching residents how to plant and take care of their trees, what trees are best for their location and soil, and spreading the word about the many amazing benefits of trees!

Impact Highlights
In our first year, we conducted three tree planting sessions. This included 20 trees in residents’ yards and at a local business, and 30 street trees (in the strip between the sidewalk and the street).
These efforts took over 300 hours of volunteer work by over 25 volunteers, as well as many more hours organizing these projects and obtaining trees from PHS.
