How did it get to be the middle of April already? I guess I’ve had my nose in the Active Hope book for too long. Meanwhile, my garden is blooming and so is Transition!
Edgar Cahn, the father of Timebanking, is speaking in Media on May 25 at our Timebank training and we are sponsoring Charles Eisenstein’s one day workshop at Swarthmore College on May 26! The Timebank is rolling along as more and more members help each other, and our monthly potlucks just keep getting better and better. The Healthcare Working Group is in the process of defining our community’s needs. The Food Group is planning a cropmob for some lucky local farmer. A local resident has offered 14 acres of her land for use by Transition Town Media–we are hoping for a permaculture center (David Jacke, author of Edible Forest Gardens, is interested in helping!). We staffed a table at the Delco Environmental Fair last weekend and will be speaking at Providence Friends Meeting on May 20 and Newark Natural Co-op on May 12.
I’m exhausted just writing about all this. How did we manage to make all these things happen? We have a completely dedicated Steering Group and TTM members who whole-heartedly give of their time and expertise. And I do believe that our March 10 & 11 Advanced Transition Training workshop by Tina Clarke lit a fire under us.
