TTM is Starting a Walking/Hiking Group. Please Join Our Inaugural Walk on Sunday, February 24. NOW! Two more walks added!

February 14, 2013 by Ellen Morfei Leave a Comment

Welcome to the Transition Town Media Walking/Hiking group.

All members of TTM and fellow travelers are invited to join as we generate both community and healthy living. We want to hear your suggestions for walks or hikes and related activities that would interest you. Some of our core considerations are:

  • We intend to walk and enjoy the great outdoors (no treadmills here).
  • We intend to explore and enjoy the great outdoors both in its most natural state and also along our local streets and neighborhoods.
  • We intend to be inclusive of all levels of ability and commitment.
  • We intend to support a variety of types of walks. This may range from scheduled walks with designated leaders to spontaneous walks.
  • We intend to encourage some focused walks that connect us with other TTM or community groups: foraging/mushrooming; history; singing; trail maintenance, etc.
  • We intend to encourage all to initiate and lead walks or hikes that interest them.

We will use this website, Facebook, and either a listserv or Meetup to distribute and share information about our gatherings. This will be our primary means of communication both for our scheduled walks or hikes and for use of those individuals who may also want to use the list for spontaneous invitations.

You can contact us by email at walks@transitiontownmedia.org or just join a walk!

If this appeals to you, please join us now, and WELCOME!
