Be a force for change and good in our community by joining us on March 18 to meet and speak with representatives from 35+ local organizations that need your help! Organizations will represent a wide range of interests, including Women’s Issues, Animal Welfare, Social Justice, Sustainability, and Ethical Government. Many have kid-friendly volunteer opportunities. You’re sure to find one you connect with!
Find the organization that best suits your interests and commit to give 5 hours per month (or whatever you can) to the organization. Check out the TAF/Give 5 Facebook page for more details..
Parking and event entrance are behind the school on 4th St near Orange. Event will be held in the school’s gym.
What are your superpowers? What are your friends’ superpowers? Do you or someone you know have:
> storytelling or public speaking skills?
> graphic design, branding or website design skills?
> meeting facilitation and notetaking skills?
All these skills and more are desired by our TAF organizations to help them accomplish their mission and do good! We will have posters helping you know who needs what skills.
The first 25 attendees of the Take Action Fair will receive a 10-pack of patriotic postcards from We the Postcard, a project from Media-based design firm Curious & Company. We the Postcard began as a way to encourage civic engagement by communicating with elected representatives. Half of the proceeds from postcard sales are donated to the Natural Resources Defense Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and the ACLU. Visit www.wethepostcard.com to learn more!
Transition Town Media will be one of those 35+ organizations. We hope you’ll stop by our table and hear about the great volunteer opportunities we have to offer. We’d love to have you come join us!
