Air pollution—how dangerous is it?  You may be surprised to learn Pennsylvania led the country for the highest number of premature deaths per capita caused by air pollution in 2020. 

It’s important to take air pollution seriously, because it is harmful to your health.

Air Pollution in Media, PA

Over a 21 day period last month, nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels were poor for 15 days, fair for 4 days, and unhealthy for 1 day.  There were no days when NO2 was rated good or excellent.

Ground Level Ozone: The Silent Health Threat

Have you noticed that air quality alert days are increasing in our area?  We need to take these alerts seriously.  The alerts include ground level ozone, particulate matter (2.5 micrometers and 10 micrometers), carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and wildfire smoke.  All these pollutants are harmful to our health, but I will focus on ozone in this blog.
