Transition Town Media (TTM) will host the Second Annual Happiness Week from May 2 through May 10th with events happening in downtown Media and nearby. One of these events will be a Seed and Plant Swap taking place on the Plum Street Mall above State Street on Saturday, May 9 from 1 – 4 PM. This is an opportunity to share those extra seed packets that are no more than two years old, or divide plants that have sprouted babies over the winter months. Feel free to bring indoor or outdoor plants in pots that are easily carried by one person. Divided plants should either be in pots or in secure, non-leaking containers.
Local vendor Barbara Briggs of Seed of an Idea will also be offering for sale Organic Edible Flower Container Gardens, which make a great Mother’s Day gift! She will also be selling 100% Certified Organic seeds and earth-friendly, compostable garden supplies. Fifty percent of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to support TTM! For more information or to pre-order, go seedsforschool.com or call Barbara at 484-222-5388.
Also, get a Media Yardens sign to proudly display in your home garden. A five dollar donation is requested.
Bring boxes for easy take away! And bring your questions! The Plant Doctors will be in!
While at the swap, consult with plant enthusiast and permaculture designer, Donna Cusano and horticulture and gardening specialists Bob and Kathy Lundgren. Our Plant Doctors will be on hand to answer your questions about plants, gardening, pest control, harvesting, seed saving, and reskilling for transition around garden and cooking skills.
Interested in on-going plant and seed swaps and lively conversation and Q&A about gardening? Join the TTM Yardens group on Facebook.
We look forward to seeing you there.
