Are you curious about growing and preserving food? Making your own soaps or household cleaners? Learning to spin, knit, sew, or mend? Then join us for a family-friendly potluck dinner with reskilling demonstrations from local community members & craft projects for the kids! You’ll not only learn new skills that will help you save money and reduce waste, you’ll have fun and meet some great people too.
We’ll be hosting this event on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 6-9pm, at the Media Community Center, 301 N. Jackson St., Media, PA. Dinner will start at 6pm. At 6:30, we’ll have a short introduction, descriptions of the demonstrations, and explanation of the schedule. Then, the demonstrations will begin – 3 or 4 concurrent sessions in 3 back-to-back half-hour time slots from 6:45 to 8:15. We’ll end with the opportunity to sign up for small classes on a large variety of topics. And we’ll be asking for new teachers too. So, if you have a skill that you are willing to share, we want to hear from you. Here’s another sweet deal – both the teachers and the participants will be paid in TimeDollars! That’s because we value your learning a new skill as much as we value those who can teach it!
Everyone is welcome. We ask that guests bring something to share for the potluck dinner or contribute a few dollars, but there is no obligation. For more information, contact us as [email protected].
