It’s the last day of Happiness Week in Media! Transition Town Media invites you to join us and many other area organizations in celebrating the things that make us happy – art, music, nature, our health, our families, our community and its great spirit of fun!
Here’s what happening today. For a listing of the entire week’s activities, April 22-27, see the events list on our website or download our Happiness Week brochure.
Sunday, April 27th – Greater Media Play Day!
Enjoy an afternoon of pure, unstructured fun at Rose Tree Park, 1671 N Providence Rd, Media 19063 from 1-4 pm. Bring kites if it’s windy, board games, musical instruments, blankets or chairs, picnic fare, anything that strikes your (and your kids’) fancy! We’ll provide some simple things to play with (boxes, carpet pieces) and the kids can create their own play while the adults hang out or join in the fun. LOCATION: Park in the Car Park right by the Police and Fire Memorials (about 250 yards into the park from the main entrance) and we will be on the flat slightly sunken area just beyond the car park.
Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd, Media PA 19063, will be hosting a Trail Ramble, 1-3 pm.
Suggestions for the day? Take a moment to notice how much fun you can have with very simple, inexpensive things or just your creativity!
Transition Town Media would like to thank all the wonderful people and organizations whose generosity of time and money made Happiness Week so much fun: the Borough of Media, Media Business Authority, Fabian-Baber Inc., Market Acumen, Joni Carley Consulting, Media Upper Providence Library, America’s First Fair Trade Town Committee, Springfield Healthplex, 7 Stones Gallery, Earth & State, 320 Market Café, all the Media businesses who participated, Enso Yoga, Providence Friends Meeting, Media Friends School, Walden School, the School in Rose Valley, Media Elementary School, Barry Sames, Fred Shamlian, Lillian Rozin, Yoga with Alissia, Alex Young, and all our tireless volunteers!
We invite you to take our Happiness Survey, http://happycounts.org/survey/GNH/JTT2014, a local version of an international survey to measure 11 aspects of happiness. When the week is over, we’ll aggregate the results and let you know how the Media area did!
