Native Seed Library
A TTGM Partnership with the
Media Upper Providence Free Library
The Native Seed Library is housed in a card catalog located in the Media-UP Free Library, and is filled with packets of native plant seeds—all ready to turn your yard into a beautiful pollinator-friendly garden! Pick some up and help us create more habitat for our local birds, bees, and butterflies.
Goals of the Native Seed Library project:
- Build a vibrant community around native plant gardening, enlarge habitat, and provide food to support local wildlife, such as birds, native bees, butterflies, and moths.
- Share the joy and wonder of learning to grow native plants and discovering the various ways they support our local biodiversity.
- Support the work of partner groups in the community such as the TTGM Green Wagon Project. Partner with these groups to increase interest in, and availability of, native plants, particularly keystone plants which provide significant benefit to beneficial insects and other wildlife.
- Offer a low-risk and affordable path to encourage experimentation, share localized knowledge, increase botanical literacy, and gain experience growing native plants.
