Help us Spread the Word about Solarize!

February 16, 2016 by Sari 1 Comment

Dear TTM friend:

I am writing to you as a member of TTM Energy Group and co-chair of Solarize Greater Media (SGM). In case you haven’t heard about our Solarize initiative, TTM has partnered with DVRPC (Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission) and Delaware County Planning Department to offer a group purchase program for solar panels in towns within a 5 mile radius of the Media Borough Hall. We went through a very intensive screening process for a solar installer and chose a really great company, Solar States. They are certified as a B Corporation, a for-profit entity that commits to making a positive social and environmental impact as well as making a profit. They have a great team with extensive experience – over 200 installations in the Delaware Valley, New York and New Jersey areas.

Through SGM, if we all work together, TTM has the ability to create change, make a difference and demonstrate our commitment to our core values.

The program has just started but already over 100 people have signed up to receive a free solar assessment for their home. We’re eagerly awaiting the first contract to be signed!  Our goal is to get 100 of our neighbors to get solar installed on their homes by May 14, 2016. Just think of the savings if we get 100 new solar homes – savings on people’s electric bills, but also the energy and carbon savings. 100 new solar homes could save the equivalent of adding about 350 acres of forest or not consuming 47,000 gallons of gasoline or 450,000 pounds of coal!

Now is the time for grassroots marketing!

We really need your help! It would help us reach our goal of 100 new installations if you could contact a community group you are involved with (faith-based, environmental, or social) and a few of your friends or neighbors and share the information about this program.  Encourage them to attend the Feb. 27 workshop at the Media Community Center.  We would love to see a full house at this information session! Visit our web site for other information sessions in Marple and Aston. If you know of a great neighborhood hang-out spot, let us know and we’ll set up a new session there if we can. If your group would like us to give them a presentation, we’ll be happy to!

We will also be distributing door hangers to spread the word (yes, we are checking the local community regulations!) – this might be something you could help with, perhaps with your children or scout troops.

If you have any ideas about how we could better spread the word, and what you would be willing to help with, just email me and we can set up a time to talk.

We can do this! All it takes is a community!

Thanks,

Joanne

People know i follow the solar industry and always ask me when the time will be right to “go solar”. Hardware costs have neared their bottom, there is almost no chance of a state rebate ever coming back to life, and this installer is offering by far the best price per watt I’ve seen. They are a top tier quality installer doing everything the way it should be done.

Go to an info session, do a bit of independent research, have them out for a free estimate and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the price after federal tax credit. Prices will always drift down, but not much further than this any time soon. Now is the time.
