Join us at The Edge Farms’ First Annual Hands-On Biogas Workshop and Backyard Biodigester “Make and Take”.
Sign up by May 31st for a $50 discount using the code “EARLYBIRDIES”!
Alexandra and Blake, owners of The Edge Farms, will be building their own biodigesters. Other participants get a chance to join a team and begin to build their own!
We will be following the book, How to Build a Solar CITIES IBC Tank Biodigester, with its author, world renowned Janice Kelsey, co-founder of Solar CITIES. Check out her TEDx talk on YouTube! Each person who signs up for the Make-and-Take Now ($400) or Practice & DIY Later ($350) ticket options will receive a copy of this hands-on manual at the event. Others who are practicing with a team of people, attending to Gain Experience ($75) or just thinking about building their own backyard biodigester (Free) can also purchase a copy to reference as a downloadable PDF.
We will prepare many materials for building them, as well as all of the tools and resources from the kit needed to build the main body of a biodigester. We will have a very informative display set up, complete with mobile classroom and kitchen so you can see biogas in action!
We are also offering a FREE same-day tour of one of the Solar CITIES biogas proving grounds right here in Chester County, just 1/4 mile away, where a local family has been cooking with biogas and gardening with the live fertilizer for over a decade.
Pot Luck Lunch. Please bring food to share in community, as we will be sitting down together for Q&A and idea sharing.
