For the past three years, an ever-growing group of neighbors have participated in Transition Town Media’s Candlelight Gratitude Celebration. This community potluck banquet is designed to recognize and thank non-profit, religious and civic organizations who contribute to Media’s thriving local community. By all accounts, it’s a delightful and beautiful event in keeping with the season of gratitude that we are entering.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 6-9pm at the Media Community Center, 4th & Jackson St, Media. The event is free and you are invited to bring a dish to share. Beer and wine will be available by donation.
This year’s celebration will include an opportunity to connect more closely with people in the community who are working on issues that you care most about. After the meal, we will gather informally around tables that will focus on the following five topics.
• Our Local Economy
• Local Energy Solutions
• Local Food and Water Access and Quality
• Our Spiritual and Civic Community
• Community Engagement
The over-riding theme of each topic is engagement – how we can work together to create the future we want to live into. We expect there to be many heart-felt conversations around the tables!
We look forward to seeing you at the Gratitude Celebration! With the focus on gratitude and the candlelit ambiance, this event marks the beginning of the holiday season in a very meaningful way.
