Batch Cooking Potluck Gathering!

July 2, 2018 by Sari Leave a Comment

On Monday, July 16, join TTM members for some batch cooking! It’s first-come-first-cook for five participants eager to chop, blend and fire-up some healthy Middle Eastern cuisine to take home and serve. We will gather around 4pm in the shiny new kitchen at First United Methodist Church, 350 W State St, Media. Please enter on Lemon Street between Baker and State Streets.

Jason McHugh of Desert Rose Restaurant will make a SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE to check our progress and give us some pointers. He’s also helping us source all the ingredients!

The vegan menu includes:

  • Hummus – build your own favorite kind from scratch ingredients
  • Baba ghanoush – from fresh local roasted eggplant
  • Homemade organic falafel

Want to try the results but don’t want to cook? Join us at 6pm that evening for TTM’s 6th Monthly Potluck (look for the TTM signs). Potluckers are encouraged to bring an accompanying salad, side dish or desert to complement our fresh-made goodies.

After dinner, we will have a special speaker – a spokesperson from Philadelphia’ The Common Market will share their vision and values regarding our local food economy. Their presentation will be followed by Q&A.

Contact Rhonda Fabian if you want to batch cook or have any questions – rfabian@kosmosjournal.org, 267.235.7888. Also remember to BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) to help make these events waste-free. Please bring your own dinnerware and your favorite beverage. Beer and wine are ok. The event is free, but we appreciate donations to help us cover costs.

We look forward to seeing you! For more information, check out the event on our calendar, or see our Facebook event page.
