A Reason to Hope

March 18, 2024 by Marion Leave a Comment

Do we have a reason to hope we are making a positive impact on climate crisis?  Actually, we have a multitude of reasons, but you have to look for them.  Mainstream media often presents us with only the bad news.

There are an astounding number of organizations and ordinary people working to mitigate climate crisis.  I was amazed when I discovered Paul Hawken’s video, Blessed Unrest, created in 2009.  The video lists over 130,000 organizations working for social and environmental justice.  Since then, countless new organizations and people that are working on climate have come into being.

  • US Climate Mayors
  • Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.  But we all need to pitch in.  In the words of António Guterres, UN Secretary General, In short, our world needs climate action on all fronts – everything, everywhere, all at once.   And I would add– everyone. If you have any organizations, newsletters, books, or other items to add, please leave a comment.

If you don’t see anything appealing here, do a google search.  Taking action relieves ecoanxiety and feelings of hopelessness.  Ready to jump in?  Go for it!  You just might change the world.
