TTM Free Store Renovations!

June 11, 2016 by Sari Leave a Comment

Screen Shot 2014-05-22 at 12.12.05 PMNOTICE: The TTM Free Store Open House will be delayed to Sunday, June 19th, 12-2pm, with donations accepted 2-4pm. Please come help us celebrate the new look!

Many, many thanks to all the helping hands that have transformed our TTM Free Store inside and out!

First of all, thanks to the many volunteers who have helped with the transition in one form or another. The hard-working Renovations team, especially Mary Van Horn and Debbie O’Donnell, with Kathy Lundgren and Ramnath Shanbhag, who have designed and managed the interior reconstruction of the store to make it more functional, more user- and volunteer-friendly, and more beautiful! Thanks also to the Documents and Training team, Dawn Wesley, Aleisa Myles, Emma Medina-Casterjon, and Sari Steuber, for creating new manuals and other volunteer documents, and for designing the training. Special thanks to Karen Lillie for getting us started with her draft of the new manual. Other volunteers who have lent a hand are too numerous to mention – Mark Fabian, Lea Slamowitz and Linda Zuniga, Alex and Katrina, Robin O’Brien, Doris Bartlett, Martin Pepper, Jerry Baber, to name a few. And a very special thanks to Rhonda Fabian who has put in countless hours and been the guiding force for this whole adventure!

We also want to thank our exceptional professional workers who have generously given of their time and talent at very reduced rates:

mike platt arboristMike Platt, 484-727-TREE, the arborist who “rescued” our lovely Katsura tree that been stressed from 2 years of punishing foot traffic.

Eric ShallcrossEric Shallcross, 610-593-7027, the “stone guru” who laid a new brick pathway to our door to make access safer and less damaging to our tree.

Alec Gutowiecz

Alec Gutowiecz, 609-541-1035, the “stair man” and master carpenter who created our lovely new intake counter.

mark roundsMark Rounds, 802-777-5953, an excellent carpenter who made the new island with room for so many different things.

Please give these talented people your business if you need these kinds of work done – they work with great skill and great caring!
