Come to the Free Store Frolic – August 16th!

July 28, 2014 by Sari Leave a Comment

The Media FreeStore has completed two wonderful months of giving people a place to share stuff, share stories, hang out with new friends and old, come to grips with our relationship to our stuff, and in many cases, breaking the hold our stuff has on us. It’s been successful beyond our wildest dreams – the number of volunteers keeps growing and the stuff keeps coming in and going out again. We’ve been amazed at the enthusiasm our little store has generated!

So it’s time to celebrate! This will be our 3rd annual creek-side potluck party – always something we look forward to – and this year we’re making it a FreeStore party. Everyone is welcome – FreeStore volunteers, patrons, supporters, and anyone interested in the store (don’t forget the kids!). Get to know your fellow FreeStore volunteers and fans, share your FreeStore stories, share your favorite songs and food, splash in the creek and swing on the rope swing – it’s a great get-together with friends, food, and music!

Bring a dish to share, bring musical instruments if you like, bring chairs or blankets to sit on, and bring the whole family! Enjoy an end-of-summer frolic on the banks of Ridley Creek!

When: Saturday, Aug. 16th, 5-10pm

Where: 281 Bishop Hollow Rd, Media 19063. It’s near the intersection of Bishop Hollow, Chapel Hill Rd, and N Ridley Creek Rd, at the edge of Ridley Creek State Park. We’ll have a sandwich board at the driveway entrance to make it easier to find.

Parking: If you park in the nearby State Park parking lot, please leave a note on your dashboard that says you’re at a party at 281 Bishop Hollow Rd. Otherwise, the park police will search the park for you after dark and they won’t be a bit happy! There is some parking available at the house, so check there first (we’ll have some notes for your car, too).
