Media’s 7th Annual Really, Really FreeMarket!

August 28, 2018 by Sari Leave a Comment

Mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Media FreeMarket! We’ll be hosting the party on Sunday, September 16, 2-5 pm at Providence Friends Meeting, 105 N Providence Rd., Media, PA.

So what exactly is the Media FreeMarket? It’s a super-fun event where everything is FREE!

The Free Market is strategically scheduled on the tail of the annual Great Media Garage Sale, which is in its 32nd year this year! It’s a great opportunity for “shoppers” to find a few more treasures and a wonderful way for garage sale hosts to clear out what they didn’t sell.

Bring something… take something… either or both…

  • SKILLS and TALENTS! Play us a song (acoustic only), give a massage, read a poem, juggle, read tarot cards, challenge us with your chess skills.
  • FOOD! Bring your savories. Bring your sweets.  Bring your hens’ extra eggs!
  • STUFF! Clean-out your house, shed, car, office, basement and your garage sale leftovers, or share your hand-mades.

DID YOU SAY MY GARAGE SALE LEFTOVERS?  Yep!  Why dump your stuff on the curb when you can find it a new home!  Bring your stuff to the FREEMARKET after you close up your garage sale and hang out with your neighbors a little longer! No items accepted after 4pm, please.

The possibilities are endless.  The rules are few.

And they are: No goods may be brought after 4 pm. No chemicals, TVs, electronics, or very large pieces like couches or mattresses.

Feeling extra generous? Bring a tarp to display goods (we need tarps!), volunteer at the event, or help us clean-up after 5 pm.  Leftover goods will be donated to the Media FreeStore or another worthy charity.

Sponsored by Transition Town Media to promote a sharing community. For more information or to help out, go to transitiontownmedia.org or email us at [email protected].
