It’s Happiness Week – Day Three!

April 24, 2014 by Sari Leave a Comment

It’s Day Three of Happiness Week in Media! Transition Town Media invites you to join us and many other area organizations in celebrating the things that make us happy – art, music, nature, our health, our families, our community and its great spirit of fun!

Here’s what happening today. For a listing of the entire week’s activities, April 22-27, see the events list on our website or download our Happiness Week brochure.

Thursday, April 24th – Family Night:

A screening of the movie, “Happy”, 7-9pm, Media Friends School, 125 W 3rd St, Media PA 19063. This Academy Award-nominated movie combines remarkable human stories from around the world with cutting-edge science illuminating what makes us happy. Join us in watching and discussing this warm, inspiring movie that can open up a deeper understanding of why and how we can pursue more fulfilling, healthier, and happier lives.

The Media Borough Recreation Board will hold a Zumba Gold Class, 9-10 am, and a Zumba Class, 10-11 am, in the Community Center, 4th & Jackson St, Media 19063.

Come meet the committee who made Media America’s First Fair Trade Town! They will be holding their weekly meeting at 320 Market Café, 21 W State St (at Plum Street Mall), Media 19063, 10-11 am. Rumor has it there’s Fair Trade chocolate samples to be had for the asking!

Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd, Media PA 19063, will be hosting a children’s class, Tiny Trackers: Let’s Peek at the Pond, from 1-2:30 pm.

The Media Little League will be hosting Grandparents Day!

The Media Borough Recreation Board will hold a Pilates Class, 7:30-8:30 pm, in the Parlor Room of the Borough Building, 301 N Jackson St, Media 19063.

Suggestions for the day? Make it a Family Night – have dinner in with your family and maybe some of the neighbors, or have the neighbors over for a game night, a sing-along, or soap bubble party, close the street (if you can) and have a block party, volunteer at the Methodist Church’s Food Bank, take a moment to appreciate your family, friends, and neighbors.

Stay tuned for more great events tomorrow through Sunday!
