It’s Happiness Week – Day One!

April 22, 2014 by Sari Leave a Comment

It’s Day One of Happiness Week in Media! Transition Town Media invites you to join us and many other area organizations in celebrating the things that make us happy – art, music, nature, our health, our families, our community and its great spirit of fun!

Here’s what happening today. For a listing of the entire week’s activities, April 22-27, see the events list on our website or download our Happiness Week brochure.

Tuesday, April 22nd – Earth Day:

Happiness Week Launch Potluck, 6-9pm, Media Community Center, 4th & Jackson Sts, Media PA 19063. Join us for a fun, family-friendly evening of music by the Happiness Singers, games & crafts, and good food and company. Bring a dish to share if you can, bring board games if you like, bring the kids and your sense of fun. You may just make some new friends tonight!

Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd, Media PA 19063, will be having classes for kids from 10-11 am (Let’s Go Play: Let’s be Artists) and from 1-2:30 pm (Garden Sprouts: Earthwormy Earth Day), and a Yoga in the Garden class from 6-7 pm.

The Media Borough Recreation Board sponsors classes in the Community Center, 4th & Jackson St, Media 19063.  A Zumba Class will take place 10-11 am, and a Tai Chi class from 11:30 am-12:30 pm.

Red Hill Farm is celebrating Earth Day with a talk by Master Beekeeper Warren Graham on Protecting our Pollinators, at Red Hill Farm, 609 Convent Rd, Aston PA 19014, 7-9 pm.

Rev. Bill Borror of Unity Center, Inc. will lead a discussion entitled “Happiness = God is great, beer is good, people are crazy” at Quotations Restaurant, 37 E State St, Media 19063, 7:30 pm.

Suggestions for the day? It’s Earth Day! Get out and enjoy it – take a walk or a bike ride, visit one of our great parks, work in your garden or start one, smell a flower, hug a tree, take a moment to appreciate the great gifts nature gives us every day.

Stay tuned for more great events tomorrow through Sunday!
